Compiler Engineers Wanted!

If you are a talented software engineer who is passionate about open source compilers, we would love to hear from you.

Embecosm develops free and open source compilers for companies around the world. The architectures with which we work range from the smallest deeply embedded processors to the largest high performance computer systems. Our specialities include machine learning compilers, superoptimization, security enhanced compilers and compilers optimized to generate energy efficient code.

Previous experience is welcome, although it is not a priority. It is highly likely you will have at least one degree, but this is also not essential. You must be an outstanding programmer (language does not matter), with a commitment to free and open source software. You will need either experience in compilers, or evidence of your potential in compilers. New graduates, with the right background are welcome. The starting salary is an indicator of the calibre of candidate we are seeking.

Up to 10% of your time will be allocated to work on your own projects. You will contribute publicly to the projects on which you work, as well as to Embecosm’s social media activity. Continuing professional development within your working practice will ensure you remain at the top of your field and keep abreast of industry developments.

You must be eligible to work in the UK and the position will involve regular international travel to customers. Applicants with sufficient experience have the option to work from home in the UK. Those without experience are expected to work at the head office for at least the first two years of employment.

We offer a starting salary of £45—85k per annum, along with an employer funded pension scheme, profit sharing bonus and a generous relocation package. Embecosm is an equal opportunities employer and we encourage applicants irrespective of age, disability, gender, race, marital status, religion or sexual orientation.
